After one week break, semester two starts!
During registration, we taught that we will take five subjects in this semester as told before. The officer told us that we only took four subjects which are Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Academic English. Introduction to Critical Thinking will be shifted to the next semester, which means five subjects will be taken in the coming semester. ( ̄▽ ̄)"
One more thing, we moved to new hostel at the end of August! (It is extremely tiring to pack all the things and unpack the things once moved in!). Due to the complaints about the previous hostel, the management decided to change the hostel. Now, the new hostel is nearer to the school, the rooms are new and bigger than before! (but still waiting for the Wi-Fi......)
One day, my English teacher gave us some advises before starting the class. She said honestly, some of us still are not independent enough. Learning independently is a very important skill as nobody will keep reminding us to do things. Try to read the lecture notes first or find extra knowledge ourselves. She told us we have to learn how to manage the time wisely especially when we are getting into university. Also, most of the students nowadays lack of one thing - think deeply. Are we really reflect ourselves after each semester? Is there any mistake we made? How to improve ourselves in the coming semester? Yup, try to think it. I will try to think and write here.
Feeling grateful to have the first short trip in this year with my classmates during the public holidays! This short trip will be updated in the coming new post! o(^▽^)o
(Actually I am thinking whether using English or Mandarin to write the blog, kindly leave some comment for this! xD)
September is the intake month for the local universities. My fellowship seniors prepared a lot of activities for the new students. The first thing is picking up them at the airport then having dinner together. Our theme for this year orientation is named ALIVE!. Orientation camp to welcome the new students was not only from UPM, but also from other universities like us. The 3 days 2 nights camp was held at the Dusun Eco Resort, Bentong, Pahang, taking one and half hour of bus. There is totally no signal there, but it is the time we can put down our phones and enjoy the breathtaking scenery here! The blue sky is so beautiful!!!(❤ ω ❤)
We stayed at the hostel which can accommodate 30 people. The water in the bathroom is as cold as the ice. Everyone was like "wah~" while taking the bath. The food here is in Malay style, but it is nice also! o(^▽^)o
I am really enjoy the peaceful moments here, few people, wind blowing, fresh and cool air, clean and tidy tables with chairs, and also the trees around the canteen! But be aware of the insects on the floor especially during the night time! <( ̄m ̄)>!
During the station games session, I was bite by insect and had some bleeding. I thought it will be okay after applying some medicine on the wound. However in the following day, the wound started to swell. I was worried and friends keep comforting me. (Yup I am the type who worries much.) I had to squeeze out the toxin which is colorless by myself. It took me almost one week to recover. Thanks God.
Another interesting and exciting activities are jungle trekking and bamboo rafting. We chose the trek with took one hour to be finished. The sky was completed covered by the canopy of leaves above us. The air was damp and the surrounding was quiet. We saw many types of trees and not all the tree are safe to be touched! A senior who had studied some of the species of plants also shared some information which were quite new for us. We helped each other during the jungle trekking, as some of the parts of the path are really slippery. Always lower the center of gravity so that we won't easily fall down. Also, be careful for the leeches, the bloodsucker! (;☉⌓☉)
We did it ! ( •̀ ω •́ )y |
Bamboo rafting is also a challenging activity! The most challenging part was not the teamwork between group members, but it was we had to prepare the bamboo raft ourselves!!! (;☉{}☉)!!!!!
Chill, the person-in-charge will demonstrate to us how to do it ! LOL.
I didn't joined this activity because of ......(hmm girls will know lol). I just helped to take photos for others. We are given about 20 minutes to complete making of the raft, because once we finished, we will directly start the competition! Yah, competition! It was fantastic!
Everyone did a great job!!! |
4th October is the Mid-Autumn Festival and it is not included as a public holiday. Thus, my housemates and I decided to have a D.I.Y. steamboat at hostel as a simple celebration. (In Chinese culture, Mid-Autumn also has the meaning of reunion with family.)
After that, I had second short trip with my classmates to Penang! (unexpectedly, as we decided at last minute lol). I will update this short trip in a new post too! Stay tune! (●ˇ∀ˇ●)
Indeed, I decided not to join the annual dinner held by the university as I just wanted to take a break first before my parents came here next week. However, my housemates told me that there are someone who brought the ticket but won't make it, they asked someone to replace them. My housemates asked me a few times but I was hesitated, as the theme of this annual dinner is Bollywood Bonanza, which mean we have to wear Indian clothes! "Don't worry, we have extra clothes borrowed from my friend." said my housemate.
When voice calling with my mum, I asked for her opinion. My mum replied decisively "Just go for it, as a new experience." ( ̄▽ ̄)"
Then, I decided to join for the annual dinner when there is a set of clothes that suits to me.
We took a van going to the hotel. It is the very first time for me to attend the annual dinner in buffet form. The food and desserts seems mouthwatering. While we were enjoying our delicious Indian food, there were many performances such as singing, dancing, music performing and also many rewards for students and lecturers. The dinner ended at 11.30 p.m. and we reached home at about midnight. It is a crazy night lol.
I managed to take photos with my beloved classmates! (It's Satu Malaysia LOL). Everyone looks so gorgeous! (❤ ω ❤) There was a photo booth there and we went and take photos together also.
And aslo with my housemtes ^w^ |
My parents came and visit me at this Deepavali holiday. We had a wonderful time. (Family love❤). We spent the holiday going out to some shopping malls. We also visited my younger brother studying at another university. And the time flies. 〒_〒
My mum recommended this Japanese Green Tea brand for me——Harada YabuKita Blend Green Tea Bags 50 pc, the price is between RM22 to RM30, depends on which shop you find. Plus, it is HALAL recognized. For me, I think it is great because it really helps me to clear heat and I will go to toilet after drinking it!
Here is the Ready to Cook Corner found in Midvalley Aeon Market. (so far I think it is the only one market that has this kind of food). The ingredients are packed ready for cook. I bought two packs for beef and wantan mee, thet tastes nice!
The holiday ended. My housemate bought the local food back for us. Thanks for her fried kampua. (❤ ω ❤)
When the semester is going to the end, all the things came at once. The quizzes, tutorials and also the English assignments came one by one without stopping. (panting) The English assignment was about doing a research for a discursive essay. Doing research takes time to search and use reliable sources. However, I didn't perform well in my presentation because I was too nervous until I did not have enough eye contact with audiences. The comment given by teacher just hit my heart directly - "Your slides are good, but you waste your slide because of the way you present. Try to observe others how they present to attract audiences." Yup, I admit it. I accept it. I cannot blame anyone, what I can only do is reflect, reflect myself. I still have a long way to go. Honestly, I felt disappointed to myself at that moment because I didn't perform as what I expected. Thus, my presentation mark is the lowest. (T_T)
Let us chill with throwback food photos hanging out with my roommate. ( ̄▽ ̄)"Sometimes, learning from mistakes sounds okay, but the courage stepping out to admit and make changes from your mistakes is the thing that we always lack of. Don't be rushing, just take time to make it. Me too.
When Kenny Rogers has a Buy 1 Free 1 promotion, this is the cheesy pasta with 1/4 chicken. The pasta sauce really tastes nice! |
Tokyo Ramen RM 10.90@Sukiya |
Gyouza RM 6.50 |
Chicken Curry Medium RM10.40 |
Before sitting for the final exam, we celebrated my roommate's birthday by preparing the surprise! (Yup it really surprises her lol). Happy birthday to my roommate!
Cheese cake~ |
Chicken soup is love (❤ ω ❤) |
At last, final exam came. What I always tell to myself is DON'T BURN THE MIDNIGHT OIL. It doesn't suit to me as I must have enough sleep to sit for exam. If not, I can't concentrate fully when doing the question. Also, semester break is one of the most powerful reason for us not to keep procrastinating to do revision. The exam hall is extremely cold, I still remember I was rushing to finish the questions as the time was going to the end of the exam. The cold environment made me shivering and my handwriting became ugly. 〒_〒
For the reflection on my studies, I satisfy with my carried marks but I still admit that I procrastinate, sometimes have to rush to do the homework. Also, I am still need improvement to be more self-discipline as sometimes I stay in bed. I also have to be more confidence when communicate in English with friends. We will always help each other, so tell myself don't be shy. You still have many things have to be learn. Learning is a non-stop progress. Keep moving!
Recently, the new timetable came out. We will start the biology class with anatomy first. (⊙o⊙) There are 10 systems that we are going to learn. The first four weeks are mostly filled with anatomy lectures, labs and tutorials!!! QAQ It seems packed. By the way, enjoy the new coming semester although it is very challenging! ( ̄▽ ̄)"
Always bring a grateful heart and passion to explore new things in lives. ❤
And don't forget God will always be with us.❤
Thanks for reading! Stay tune! ❤
