Yeah!
This is my first travel trip post for this last year! ( ̄▽ ̄)"
P/S: This is what I wrote in the last year
and FINALLY I am going to update this post.
This is all about PROCRASTINATION. Don’t be like me.
Since
there was a continuous holidays due to Malaya Independent Day and Haji Day, we
decided to have a short trip with my classmate and housemate to Malacca.
My
housemate and I made a mistake in taking the bus to the Melaka. We didn’t book
the bus ticket before travelling. All the bus tickets that depart from TBS were
SOLD OUT at 30st August! We regret
and tried to find an alternative way. We realized that there are bus services
available at the airport. So, on that morning, we took the public transport to
the KLIA2 and bought the bus tickets.
If
we take the bus from TBS, the bus ticket only cost RM10+ but from airport is
more than RM20, we learnt a lesson from this evidence. BOOK THE TICKET EARLIER ESPECIALLY DURING THE
HOLIDAY SESSION.
“This
is the first time that we go to airport for not taking the flight.”
“Yup,
this makes me feel like I want to go home now.”
That’s what we said when we were waiting for
the bus.
Suddenly,
there was a man coming to ask the number of the platform for the bus to Melaka.
We replied that we were taking the same bus too. That man came from China to
Malaysia to travel, he asked about any other places recommended. We replied
like Penang, Melaka, Langkawi Island and so on. We chatted for a while. Later,
he asked for permission to leave and went to the toilet quickly before the bus
arrived.
It
took 2 hours 15 minutes to reach the Melaka Sentral.
After getting down, we booked Uber to go to the hostel directly. The driver and
we took some time to find the hostel as the streets were narrow and mostly were
one way road, as well as the hostel is difficult to find due to small shop
sign.
We
booked two nights in a backpacker hotel --- 45Jebat Backpackers Hostel & Café and it was only RM35 per night! In my opinion, the hostel was better for
backpackers and males, less suitable for family, for females, it is still okay
if you go in groups as the facilities provided were not as good as what you
imagine. The bathroom is small and old. Plus, it had some noise especially
during the night as it is extremely near to Jonker
Street. P/S: However, the café was renovated to another new shop already when I checked back the Facebook page. If more details were needed, please don’t hesitate to message them for the new price.
After
we checked in the hostel, we rested for a while before we went to the night
market in the Jonker Street. Because of the public holidays, the street was
overcrowded. We squeezed like sardine fish. The street was long with many small
stalls, shops and food courts.
Malaysian
Chinese always describe the crowd by saying “people mountain people sea”,
this phrase is directly translated from the Chinese idiom [人山人海]. (Although we know this
is totally not formal to say that lol).
We
walked from the beginning to the end of the street and then back to the hostel
after we bought and ate some food. We bought the extra-long fried potato strips,
popiah and ate at the food court. After that, we took a bath and slept.
Extra-long fried potato strips, RM8
Oyster vermicelli
The
next day, we woke up and enjoyed the big breakfast with tea prepared by the person-in-charge
of the hostel. I quite enjoyed the meal and it only cost RM 6!
Chicken
rice ball was one of the must eat food when visiting Malacca. It was unique as
the chicken rice was rubbed into small balls. There were many shops selling
this food. We tried at one of them and it tasted okay, just the price was a
little bit high due to high popularity.
Have a cendol when the weather is hot!
My
classmate came with her parents. She will join us while her parents will have
their own plan already. We meet at the Dataran
Pahlawan Melaka Megamall nearby the popular places which were the A’Famosa, Christ Church and St.Paul’s Church. We
visited these places together after lunch. There were quite many people there
and the weather was very hot. Walking along the sloped stairs made us feel
tired, but we enjoyed the scenery from the top view.

Actually,
there were quite many other attractions to visit but we didn’t visit so many
due to time constriction. We just focused on the places around the Jonker
Street. I found a website which introduces the whole Malacca from attractions,
hotels, tours, food, shopping and so on. LINKHERE.
In
the evening, we planned to go to the local sea which is the Glebang Beach. It took some time to there as it
was few kilometres away from the city. There were many families there playing
the kites, building the sand castles, swimming, picnicking and enjoying the
food bought from the small stalls. The beach was nice to watch the sunset, we
purposely found a place suitable to record down the all these beautiful natural
process. However, I wouldn’t upload my record because it was too shaky. (-__-)
It
was getting to the dark and we had to go back. We keep waiting for the booking
of Uber to be accepted. Luckily, a driver was willing to fetch us but my
classmate suggested to the driver that we meet at another place as the beach here
was crowded. We walked for a quite long time to meet the driver, and it was
totally dark now. The driver was shocked and talked to us don’t be so ‘adventurous
and brave’ as we were all girls. It was dangerous to walk along the road
without knowing the places well. This is a bad example
for you guys not to do during the travelling, BE AWARE OF SAFETY IS ALWAYS THE FIRST PRIORITY.We were tired already and there was
traffic jam at the Jonker Street. The driver was very nice and helpful, he
chatted with us along the way.
We
missed the chance to try out the famous food – Satay
Celup. Never mind, we can eat it when we visit Malacca again! ( ̄▽ ̄)"
After
resting at the hostel for a while, we went down again to the Jonker Street. One
of my friends went for the Henna drawing while we tried to find the places to
have dinner. We have the dinner at the food courts near to the end of the food
court. We ate fried oyster with eggs, Asam laksa and Nyonya
laksa. I ordered the Nyonya laksa because I haven't try it out before, it didn't taste as spicy as curry because much coconut milk was added which gave additional nice smell.( •̀ ω •́ )y
Nyonya laksa (RM6)
There
are three types of laksa which are the Curry laksa, Asam laksa and Sarawak
laksa. Nyonya laksa is one of the types of Curry laksa and is rich in coconut
milk, so it only tasted a little bit spicy. Asam laksa has strong favour of
sour while Sarawak laksa is the mixture of Nyonya and Asam laksa, which becomes
a unique dish in Sarawak!

Before
we went back to the hostel, we bought a coconut as a drink to release the heat.
We took a bath and then rest. We didn’t sleep very well because of the noise
from the outside. My classmate went out to have a drink with new friends she
meet and went back at the morning while I woke up at that time for a while.
The whole coconut meat with juice!
It
was the time to go back. In the morning, we walked to the Jonker Street again
to find the shops for breakfast. We also went to the souvenir shops to buy some
local products at San Shu Gong Food Industries Sdn.
Bhd. which is just located at the opening of the street!
Good morning!
Breakfast
We
watched the breathtaking scenes of Melaka River. The boat was going along the
river and this moment can be taken down as a nice photograph!
Malacca River
Boat!
My classmate’s
parents fetched us back to the hostel. We had a lunch together nearby the
hostel. My roommate and I would like to pay the transport fee to her but she
ran back to the car already after taking the things from the room. LOL.
Lunch
That’s
ended our short trip to Malacca. Malacca gives me different views for me especially
the old buildings that have been preserved for years, so that we have the chance to see the real things by our own eyes. I feel appreciated as I enjoyed the another culture within Malaysia, including the food, the scenery, the people, the buildings, the streets and so on.
I
summarized the whole things as below:
