Year 2017 Review

Year 2017 is almost reaching the end, time flies so fast!
(~ ̄▽ ̄)))* ̄▽ ̄*)o

Let me recall and value my goals and revolutions for this year.
I will try to write this year review in a different way, kindly leave some comments! 😂
(I think what I want to share were mostly wrote in previous updates.)
Here is the summary of my year 2017 goals:
  • Choose my degree course cautiously after the result comes out. Who knows I am studying foundation in science now lol, but I am still grateful to meet crazy friends here. 😈
  • After applying the desired course, start to plan the hostel rental. I surveyed the hostel after applying my foundation and prepare myself before coming.
Seriously, I was upset when my result came out and was not satisfying. At that moment my brain was blank, what could I do for my future study? My mother and I went to an education agent, the officer suggested me to take foundation in science then take the degree course that I had interest on it. My parents left me to decide because I was the one who decide as I was the one who are going to study.

And finally I am here. (Eh?)😌

Sincerely, studying foundation in science is not as easy as I thought. It is full with lectures, tutorials, lab reports, assignments, quizzes, tests, and even presentations. What I always taught and saw is foundation just like happy-go-lucky, but it doesn't apply here. The timetables are packed, from 9 to 4 (sometime it can be until 5). The syllabus are not easy also, although I learned some of the topics in previous study, but some are deeper and some I haven't learn before.  Quiz always come through after one topic has been taught. Mid-term exam is coming at about week 7. But we only have about five days of revision days before final exam. 😢

Sometimes procrastination is fine (but don't over), semester one is just a start, semester two becomes busy, and the third semester is the busiest. Actually I am thinking to share some of the study notes made here.
  • Practice to update blog weekly in English, Chinese or both. I FAILED to do so. (can see it obviously lol)
  • Write one travelling trip. Yup for my  Melaka and Penang short trips.
  • Write more than five food-hunting posts. If including Taiwan posts, I just wrote about THREE.
As I wrote before, sometimes I am really struggling about which language I want to use to update the next post. This year I only update here once few months (facepalm).  To be active, I challenge myself write four posts per month. Sometimes I maybe lack of idea, my friend suggests me to write some journals in Mandarin since one post about the Olympic one has quite high views. It has been a long time for not using Mandarin to express myself.

I don't know when is the next trip because of busy studying but I am still looking forward for it! This year I had lunch outside together with my classmates and also my housemates!

(Maybe next time I can write in anyone new post? Hmm......)
Nando's!
Bibimbap rice balls!
  • Don't keep procrastinating in anything. I admit that I still procrastinate and not self-discipline enough, but it improves when I meet my roommate, she is really a discipline person.
  • Learn new Photoshop skills. It has been a long time not opening my PS already......
  • Read more novels and articles, and then write the reviews monthly. This one I really FAILED to do this, I seldom read novels but more often on articles or short stories shared in the social media.
  • Learn to do planning using journal. I am not really planning routine using my journal, I just write down the to do list in a small whiteboard sticking on the wall in front of me.
I learn a lot from my roommate, she is a very self-disciplined person. Looking into myself, I always procrastinate and do things at almost last minute and don't satisfy my work as it has been done in a rush. She makes me to be more independent, not only in studies, but also in daily life. Besides, I also learn to make own notes. Making own notes let us easier to understand the learning outcomes, taking out the important points from study materials, and can have a quick glance before the quiz or test.
  • Lose 5 kg weight. Seriously I lost approximately 1 kg. (Mum: It is caused by stress lol.)
  • Learn Japanese Language with target N5 standard. Maybe my vocabulary can reach N5 but my grammar is still at the very beginning level.
  • Recall back the English Language skills learnt before. I think it improves some as I speak to my classmates in class as most of them speaks English, but my presentation skills still need improvements.
  • Take some time to do drawing. Instead of drawing, I start to do my notes using colorful stationary or random writing.
I feel relieved as my weight loss a little bit (at least not keep increasing is fine lol). For my Nihongo, I just keep learning vocabulary from Memrise, I haven't manage my time to learn the grammar, maybe sometimes I can guess the meaning of the sentences, but I don't know how to reply it, that's the matter.

What I bought from Big Wolf Book Fair!

Occasionally, it is the time for us to find our hobbies. Hobby is not just a hobby, it is a thing that we can do or like to do other than studies during leisure. Interest and passion are very important values that we have to practice. Without them, we will feel bored easily, or refuse to do or learn something that seems troublesome. This is because not everything we learnt are always our favorite, some of topics may become our weakness. It needs time to change our minds to accept something that we don't like. You will feel the difference when you try to learn it, maybe it's still difficult. Try again. Try again and again. You may feel afraid and discouraged at that moment, but throw away the negative emotion and keep saying try. That's what I am trying now as I take physics in this semester. (Seriously I don't know why I am so scared of this subject, maybe lack of confidence.)
Merry Christmas!

2nd prize

Consolation prize

  • Learn to be grateful and learn from mistakes. That's what I always tell to myself, be grateful for everyone and everything.
  • Learn more God's words and built up confident. It improves since I joined the fellowship.
  • Learn to be lean more on God as He has plan on us. Yes, thanks God as I can be prepared to be baptized in this Christmas Day!
My friends and I joined as volunteers for our church's event - Love Serdang Christmas Carnival as stage managers, although there were a few times of light rains, thanks God that the event still can proceed and end successfully! Also, our group in fellowship won the second and consolation prizes in Christmas lighting making using recycling materials competition! Congrats and everyone did a great job! We spent few days to make three works to join. I can still remember we made it until the midnight and reached hostel at about 2 a.m. (break record !)

This year I had three Christmas gift exchanges with my housemates, classmates and also friends in church! My housemate sent me a cute and grey seal pillow to me; my classmate sent me a heat sensitive mug (as shown above) and my friend in church send me a mask.
I don't know the real name of this fruit, but it is a type of wild mangosteen!

  • Watch more animes and write reviews, and also listen to more anime songs. I planned to write but haven't write the anime reviews (facepalm), this year there are lots of wonderful anime songs released.
  • Learn to explore the surrounding more. I explored new things in my university, friends, fellowship, foods and so on...hmm.

I didn't watch many animes this year, mostly watch online. The only anime that I watch and download is The Ancient Magus Bride. I am attracted by the beautiful drawing style, nice opening and ending songs, plus the beautiful background musics (soundtracks)! I am not going to spoil, just recommend you to watch it!

Other recommended animes are Land of the Lustrous (Houseki no Kuni), Blood Blockade Battlefront Beyond (Kekkai Sensen Beyond), Jūni Taisen, Classroom of the Elite (Yōkoso jitsuryoku shijō shugi no kyōshitsu e), Kakegurui – Compulsive Gambler, Princess Principal and so on... ...

I went for our secondary school friends gathering the day before yesterday, it has been almost one year not meeting them already. This make us feel like it is getting more difficult to meet each other as everyone is studying outstation at different universities, appreciate every moment with everyone here. 💗

Although I suppose have to study at this holiday, but I was sick these few days!! QAQ I got flu and fever, but luckily it is getting better now. Now, both of the legs still have lots of mosquito bites and have to apply the medicinal lotion on it. So, my short trips post have to be postponed again (facepalm), as the next coming post is about the goals.😬

I forgot to write that my roommate and I got denggi this year. I started with the fever first, my roommate also had fever later with higher body temperature than me. After the blood testing, she told me that she got denggi and had to go back home on that day. At that time, I was getting better and the fever is remitting, but haven't recover my appetite (it is terrible as you are not willing to eat food in front of you!). I ate many Chinese medicine brought and keep going to toilet. 😧

Always have a gathering with her also haha. We both are bloggers now, we always talk about the blogs, animes, travelling, studies and many more. Appreciate every time we meet. 😆

In short, year 2017 is a special year that changes me a lot since I chose to study foundation here, meeting new friends here, and also learning new things here! Thanks God for His plan full with unexpected wonderful things come to me. I am grateful for everything! Thank you!

Year 2018 is going to be challenging year for me especially in my study. Nevertheless, let's let the past pass and keep stepping forward! We can't forget all the memories we want to forget, but what can we do is forgiving. Forgive ourselves and forgive everyone, then tidy ourselves and cheer up! ✌

Wish everyone a Happy New Year! 💖💖💖
GOODBYE 2017, WELCOME 2018!
